Eragon is a fantasy trilogy. The First book of Inheritance, first published in 2002, has been 61 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, and become a best seller all around the world. The story was screened by the 20 th Century Fox, with the help of director Sefen Fengmaier, who designed the visual effects of Jurassic Park, Casper, Saving Private Rayan, Master and Commander – The far side of the world, Signs etc.
The crew chose Hungary to give place for this grandiose project, so shooting began in summer, 2006. 99% of the movie was shot in Hungary . In some scenes, the story is not exactly similar to the book, but it is quite normal among novel-adaptations.

The film is a fantasy-adventure movie. The story comes to life in a medieval world just like The Lord of the Rings. This is the age of the Dragon Riders in Christopher Paolini's fantasy world called Alagaësia. Different tribes and nations living here such as humans, elves, dwarves, dragons, urgals and other magical creatures.
